~The Lair of Madame Tarantula~

Japanese song lyric transliterations/English translations.

All transliterations and translations have been done personally by me.
(*PLEASE ASK TO USE ANYTHING I POST ON MY BLOG, I'VE WORKED VERY HARD ON THESE AND DON'T MIND SHARING, IF CREDIT IS GIVEN. THANK YOU!*)

Each song lyric has its own page (instead of the usual "post" format) containing the transliterations and my English translations on the page in a format that makes it easier for me to post and also allows anyone to copy and paste them for their own use. To find a song, simply click the artist's photo in one of the side columns or the artist's name listed in the rows at the top of this site, which will take you to a complete discography listing (if I've had the time to create it, some are not finished yet) and links for any song I've translated and posted on this site. Scan directory links are also listed underneath discographies for each artist by magazine and then release date chronologically once they've been edited by me and posted to this site.

Please credit me if you use any of my translations! Thank you!

Confession of Mask (2013 Version) (2014)

VELVET EDEN
Music: Aci/DADA
Lyrics: DADA

Lyrics
———————————————————————————————————————————
僕には顔が無い誰かに盗まれた 呪縛と引き換えにこの仮面を手に入れた

汝、虚蝉にしがみつく付く者、哀れむには値せず

全てを失って占う価値も無い Aliceの街角を一人歩き続けてる

Walking sick sick, Walking in town.
Walking sick sick, Walking in town. Alone.

Notes:
1 僕には顔が無い誰かに盗まれた is an exact combination of the first two lines of the song ‘SAD MASK,’ thus indicating that this is a continuation of the story involved in that song.
2 しがみつく付く is what is written (and is clearly an error by DADA, as it makes no sense and I believe he meant to write 付く with kanji and forgot to erase the kana he had first written), but しがみ付く is what is sung (which is correct).
3 This line is sung twice, but is only written once.
4 DADA says something here that to me sounds like, ‘I wish to know me…’  It is not written in the official lyrics, however.

2 ‘shigamitsuku tsuku’ is what is written (and is clearly an error by DADA, as it makes no sense and I believe he meant to write ‘-tsuku’ with kanji and forgot to erase the kana he had first written), but ‘shigamitsuku’ is what is sung (which is correct).

My English Translation
———————————————————————————————————————————
A face does not exist on me/I do not have a face/I have no face, it was stolen by someone1…I took possession of this mask in exchange for a spell

“Thou, a person who clings on to a cast-off shell of a cicada/an old, useless thing, do not deserve to receive any sympathy

Since I lost everything, it is worthless even to see my fortune…I keep on walking alone on the street corner of Alice

Walking sick, sick, walking in town2
Walking sick, sick, walking in town
Walking sick, sick, walking in town…alone

“The thorns behind my mask become/grow longer every time/whenever I weep”
I will at least look for my face again tonight wearing the dress I hated

As you wish, please laugh at me, who is breaking down…while I keep sewing on the cracked/split mask
I am ugly, aren’t I?…But even now I want to keep on believing that I will find my face
“I will not let it end yet”…I hear a voice say

I wish to know me…3

We can hear a flapping of a crow’s wings for our well-suited appearance…entering into the cracking and splitting mask

As you wish, please laugh at me, who is breaking down…while I keep sewing on the cracked/split mask
I am ugly, aren’t I?…But even now I want to keep on believing that I will find my face
“I will not let it end yet”…I hear a voice say

Until the day we meet again by chance…ah!
