~The Lair of Madame Tarantula~

Japanese song lyric transliterations/English translations.

All transliterations and translations have been done personally by me.
(*PLEASE ASK TO USE ANYTHING I POST ON MY BLOG, I'VE WORKED VERY HARD ON THESE AND DON'T MIND SHARING, IF CREDIT IS GIVEN. THANK YOU!*)

Each song lyric has its own page (instead of the usual "post" format) containing the transliterations and my English translations on the page in a format that makes it easier for me to post and also allows anyone to copy and paste them for their own use. To find a song, simply click the artist's photo in one of the side columns or the artist's name listed in the rows at the top of this site, which will take you to a complete discography listing (if I've had the time to create it, some are not finished yet) and links for any song I've translated and posted on this site. Scan directory links are also listed underneath discographies for each artist by magazine and then release date chronologically once they've been edited by me and posted to this site.

Please credit me if you use any of my translations! Thank you!

Lyrics

My English Translation
———————————————————————————————————————————
The appearance/look of young girls that dream of…pink lipstick
Eventually they become aware of another color…and instead put on red lipstick

But I differ from them…I am a proud female spider
I am born at night, I will die at night…so I will put on black lipstick

Prince/Knight on a white horse1…where is a good place for me?
Mirror, Mr. Mirror/honorable mirror…today I will ask you a question again

I want to completely wither away now…rather than bloom vibrantly
It can’t be so that I am falling in love with…the likes of this deflowered girl prostitute

Ah…if it is your intention…to play with me/trifle with my emotions…you will hurt me
I will not be able to keep…the promise we made…that time will be given up soon

Ah…I put on…the red lipstick…that burns like fire
I defy my destiny and…you come and go/that person/he comes and goes2

Ah…I shake off…the dogs that are hot on my heels
This heart of mine beats fast…but the street corner of Alice runs through my mind

Notes:
1 The ‘Prince/Knight on white horse’ mentioned here is the “Prince Charming” stereotype of fairy tales.
2 This line can also have a more vulgar translation of: “I defy my destiny and…you orgasm/ejaculate in me/that person/he orgasms/ejaculates in me.” I only mention this because this translation could actually fit into this song, (meaning she gives in and stops pretending to be something she is not, an innocent girl when she is in fact a prostitute).  This is likely true, given DADA’s penchant (and in my opinion, ingenuity) for sexual innuendo word play that he uses in a lot of his song lyrics.
